I have been to Alma for a brunch on Saturday Morning. The Place is very colorful and it has a beautiful view of Manhattan. The black very beautiful waitress has been very kind and professional. Burritos are very good and it is a large portion....More
We were recommended here by an English expat we met who has lived in NYC for 11 years. We made reservations however when we got there they were able to seat us on the rooftop section, the views were spectacular! Aside from that, the ambience...More
Went in for an early dinner New Year’s Eve and the staff was getting ready for the evening. Everyone there is very friendly and the service is very good. We sat on the second floor which is also nice, although not with the same dramatic...More
My husband and I usually enjoy this location and have been there many, many times over the years. Sad to say but we had the worst experience there Friday night-3/2/18. We had a call ahead and still had to wait at least 30+ minutes. Total wait with call ahead 60+ minutes. When we finally got a table, it was the worst table in the restaurant. It was a 2-person, sandwiched between other tables. It was not private and actually felt like an extension of the family sitting next to us. We waited more than 10 minutes for a server to stop by ( they were probably not aware we were in fact a separate table) and then only because we saw a manager that a server finally came by. Sean did not seem too happy to wait on us or the table next to us. I ordered an ice tea and water and waited at least 15 minutes before that come out. Needless to say, our waiter said no more than 2 words to us the entire evening. We ate, asked for the bill and left. My only regret is that we opted for Redcoat vs Royal Oak Restaurant week. I told the manager that we would not be back for quite awhile. Sorry to see this great old establishment starting to slide downhill.
Solid Burgers. I might say a go to. Wait can be frustrating but I suppose that speaks to the quality of the food. Wait staff needs to be more friendly, any questions about the menu are met w a frustrated look. Who needs that? Many other fine places.
My family and I have been coming to this place for years. This is by far the best burger I know of in the Detroit area. It trumps all other burgers for me. I always order their Piedmontese beef, there's a little up charge but its leaner meet so its worth it. Then I add bacon, smoked gouda and grilled onions (it comes with lettuce, tomato and special sauce). I get cooked medium rare+ and it is sooooo enjoyable. I might go get one right now lol
